According to the letter sent to U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy on Wednesday, valid ballots postmarked on time have been received after the deadline to be counted and the issue hasn’t been corrected.

The officials also noted that there have been cases of election mail with valid addresses being returned as undeliverable.

“We have not seen improvement or concerted efforts to remediate our concerns,” the National Association of Secretaries of State and the National Association of State Election Directors wrote.

The officials also wrote in the letter that the issues were “not one-off mistakes or a problem with specific facilities” and it “demonstrates a pervasive lack of understanding and enforcement of USPS policies among its employees.”
